Neil,

Loved the Game.
Saw you on a fox news peice about modern survivalism. Wondering if you have had a chance to read this guy's book: Fernando Ferfal Aguirre: The modern survival manual: Suriviving the economic collapse.

Personally, I think the whole concept of new years' resulutions is fundamentally flawed. Why make goals only once a year, when you can make them every week (or every day even)?

Totally agree on the sub-resolution point though. Lose 30lbs becomes much less daunting when broken down into its constituent parts (eg. Join a gym, research best nutrition practises, learn about muscle hypertrophy, workout twice a week, etc).

A great resource for the continual-goal-setting mentality is the Getting Things Done book by David Allen. Highly recommended, especially if used in combination with a web/mobile based app such as Remember The Milk (google it).

Continual goal-setting and review is a key step on the path to mastery of your life.

the suit is a great idea i did it about 3 months ago and you feel amazing when going to a club where every one is just in a nice shirt and jeans. it makes for good conversations to the ladies about the reason your dressed like a man.

I'm seriously debating taking a "sabbatical" of sorts and just getting back to nature. Bringing out some of that Alpha Male you just can't unleash in civilization.....
ill def. pick up "Emergency" before (if) I go.

Hi Neil

Thanks for those resolutions. I think you're absolutely right that there's lots of things people can do to change their lives which dont require a huge amount of work or money. I like the subscribing to a magazine one, which I will definitely start. And the photocopying essential documents is a great reminder, something I've put off for ages.

I turned 30 a few days ago, and my own personal resolution this year is to start implementing the ideas from the book 'The Richest Man in Babylon', but properly this time! I've tried it before but always ended up spending the money I saved on some emergency, but this time I'm determined to invest like it says. I plan to do it for this whole decade, and try to get to a situation where I'm earning enough passive income to cover my costs by the time I'm 40. Wish me luck!
