Hypnotist of the Week: The Manchurian Candidate

Entrenched in my top ten movie list of all time is The Manchurian Candidate, the original 1962 version with Frank Sinatra (not the Jonathan Demme remake).

It is one of the greatest political conspiracy thrillers of all time. It was so controversial that supposedly the studio were too afraid to release it until John F. Kennedy, as a favor to Frank Sinatra, gave them the okay. (Ironically, the movie is about a political assassination plot.)

And the opening contains perhaps the greatest and creepiest hypnotism scene of all time:

Watch the whole movie sometime. Highly recommended!
