Watching The Artist–hands down the best movie of 2011–there were many scenes lifted from some of the great silent movie classics. And it made me realize that I should share some of my favorites with you. In this incredible scene, Douglas Fairbanks, who hosted the first-ever Academy Awards show, performed all the stunts himself. His work (and life) not only influenced The Artist, but also Jackie Chan and thousands more.
