The #1 Secret of Top Performers

Richard ArthurAdvice

Spoiler Alert:

It’s self care.

Every day you need physical energy, mental clarity, and emotional balance to tackle everything that comes your way..

Self care is the secret to performing at your highest level.

Because without those — you won’t be able to share your gift with the world.

Some people may work themselves to the bone, but they risk burnout..

The sharpest, coolest, and most confident entrepreneurs I’ve met are all avid fans of “self care”

They invest time into their personal happiness — even on the busiest of days.

And they achieve at the highest levels.

In fact, the busier you are, the more you should prioritize self care.

With all this talk about non-stop “hustling” and “grinding” all over Social Media:

People are forgetting about their personal happiness, and the reason why they are striving to be “successful” in the first place…

Here’s your weekly reminder:

1. Wake up Like A Boss

2. Prioritize Your Day

After waking up like a boss, make sure to take the time to ask yourself:

What is the most important task that I will complete today?

Most of the time, you should execute on your most important task, first.

3.  Get Your Work Done With The Pomodoro Technique

The Pomodoro Technique has completely changed how I approach the workday, and been amazing for my productivity.

Instead of sitting at my desk for hours (wasting plenty of time on social media)…

I set a timer and work for a very focused and intense distraction-free 25 minutes…

After the 25 minutes is up, I’m permitted to take a 5 minute break, and then go back to work…

After 4 rounds, I take a longer break (around 30 minutes) and then get back to work…

Something about the short deadline and timer forces me to work efficiently.

With the Pomodoro, I’m finishing tasks in 25 minutes, that would previously take me around an hour.

You can get a clock like the one in the photo above, use this website, or just the timer app on your phone.

Also, listening to Brain.FM on focus mode helps tremendously.

4.  Move and Sweat Daily

Not much to say here other than – just do it.

Countless studies prove that exercise increases your mental sharpness, your happiness, your confidence, your energy, your sex drive, your motivation, your self worth, and so much more…

And if you’re not — this should be your first priority if you’re interested in transforming your life.

5. Express Gratitude and Reflect Daily

Science says that expressing gratitude fosters happiness, and I agree.

Every night (and some mornings) I write about the good in my life, and what I’m grateful for.

And then, I reflect on the day and ask myself the following questions:

1. What went well?

2. What needs improvement?

3. How will I improve that?

Without self care, you are running on fumes, and at risk for burnout…

Without taking time for yourself each day – you’ll be living with no clarity, and not fully understanding why you are doing certain things.

And more importantly…

You’ll lose touch with what’s really important to you.

Here’s to figuring out what makes you happy, and doing it every single day.
