Super Wings

First of all, thank you for The Society applications. We are still busy going through them. We received over 1000 applications for five spots. And some of you did an incredible job.

Unfortunately, we can’t expand the membership beyond 100. But some of the guys in the group suggested creating local branches of The Society, which would be really cool. So if you want to be part of the think tank to make this happen or if you’re interested in joining if we do it, especially if you already sent in an application, just leave your name here: Society Form

But fair warning: I have a ton going on, so if you all come up with a solution that works (and keeps the identities of current members private), it’ll take a few months to see this through properly.

In the About Fucking Time Department…

THE GAME AND EMERGENCY AND ROTG AND ELYWYD AND THE LHROOH AND HTMLLAPS ARE FINALLY EBOOKS

They come out this TUESDAY for Kindle, iBooks, and Nook. The reason it took so long is because I oversaw the design to make sure they look as good, if not better, than the printed versions. I also added more than fifty extra pages to Emergency with a ton of how-to survival information that I felt was missing from the original. And I updated Rules of the Game, particularly the phone rules, which have changed since its publication.

In a lot of ways, I’ve always felt like the step-by-step how-to part of Rules of the Game was constrained as a book, because multimedia content was necessary, personal motivation for each reader was important, and connecting with local wingmen is key to getting better. So I updated the system, made it more fun and interactive, made it possible to instantly connect with local guys doing the same missions you are, and turned it into an app called A Better Man.

I’ll tell you more about it later, but right now, I wanted to see if five of you wanted to get a copy for free. I told the developer to let you all beta test it if possible before releasing it.

(Five seems to be the magic number on this list.)

To be one of the 5, send in a field report of a time you went above and beyond for your wingman; a time you saved your wing by neutralizing an angry friend or pacifying an obstacle; a time you were… a super wing. The five best field reports will receive a free copy of the app to test, and will be wingmen for the first people who receive it. Send it to [email protected].

And for you armchair readers here, I’ll collect all the best of these field reports and send them out to you all as a pdf for toilet reading to inspire you to be better friends.

Your Wingman,

Neil

P.S. I love that we’re going to possibly expand this Society idea. The guys and I kind of have a dream of creating Society Houses around the world, where there would be rooms for visiting members to crash in, regular speakers and experts coming through to teach and inspire, cool activities, workstations, a business incubator, and a chef on hand so you can take dates and friends there.

It’s a dream. But if you’re interested or if you applied for the Society at any point, leave your name here so I know: Society Application

P.P.S. I know I say this a lot, but thanks for being a part of the Inner Circle. A lot of things wouldn’t be possible without all of you. In fact, the entire team working  with me here on all of these projects are your fellow Inner Circle members who wrote in over the years and demonstrated their awesomeness.
