Friday Gear Report: Aerobed Pakmat

afrankelSurvival, Survival Gear

If you’ve ever spent a night in a tent you’ve had to deal with a sleeping pad. I say “deal with” because they bulky and a pain to pack away.

But Aeorbed claims to have solved all the trouble trying to get a decent nights sleep. The Pakmat is a thin, durable mattress that rolls up neatly into a water-bottle-looking container. And they built the pump right into the Pakmat’s casee (snazzy).

When inflated the air bed inflates to 78″ x 26″ x 5″ (198.12 cm x 66.04 cm x 12.7 cm). Once packed way it’s whole package weighs in at 5 lbs. in a 19″ x 5″ x 5″ package.

Still a tad on the large side for backpacking. But it may be worth it…
