Rewrite A Script

SharonNeil

I’ll trust you…

And assume you’ve put some thought into your formative experiences surrounding money.

If you did, you’ll be well prepared for today’s exercise.

Because what we’ll be doing next is rewriting your money script—the mindset and collection of beliefs that you’ve been acting out, which dictate your financial situation.

To rewrite a script, you’ll need to have a copy of the original. So, to find that…

1. Grab a pen and paper, and write “Money” in the center of the page.

2. Set a timer for 5 to 10 minutes

3. On the rest of the page, write down everything your mind associates with that word.

It could be single words, phrases, or detailed beliefs. Write anything. Don’t stop. And be brutally honest. If you’d feel embarrassed to show this to someone else, then you’re probably on the right track…

4. When the time’s up, review the page and circle the 5 items that feel the most charged or accurate.

Whatever items you’ve circled are key stories in your money script. Many of you may find traces of scarcity mindset here–words expressing stress, fear, negative beliefs, and negative emotions.

5. Next, use these words as the basis of a tight, concise summary paragraph of your feelings and beliefs around money.

When you look at your entire financial life, you might be able to see how it was created by this script…

6. Now let’s go a step further, and write a new script from the mindset of abundance…

A script where you always have exactly what you need, at exactly the right time. There are no limitations, and everything is in bountiful supply. You can create and exchange wealth freely.

Your abundant money script will often be the polar opposite of your old script. So if the last one had words like “stressful,” then you might choose words like “ease,” “joy,” and “freedom.”

Once it’s written, this new script is something you’ll want to review regularly, to let it sink in.

I wanted to share this exercise because everyone’s financial situation and the right next steps will look different…One person’s may be investing, or saving. Another’s may be diversifying their business, starting one, or even letting one go…

Whatever the case is for you, having an abundant mindset as your foundation universally applies…

Because it completely transforms the way you perceive this area of your life, no matter how challenging it may appear at times…

It allows you to have the positivity, openness, and confidence to begin seeing and implementing the best strategy for a life that’s successful on the inside and outside. And to prevent the many forms of self-sabotage that a scarcity or fear-based mindset leads to.

If you go through the next steps of the process to truly internalize this abundant script, it can generates a massive ripple effect—unlocking new doors and higher levels on your journey of success.
